Join Columbia SoCal for a happy hour conversation with fellow alum Elliot S! Maggin '74JRN, who penned many Superman (and almost every other superhero you can think of) comic books, graphic novels, novels, and scripts. Elliot has worked with superhero legend Stan Lee, and wrote the original stories marketed with two major Superman motion pictures. He has also written hundreds of superhero comic books, several superhero graphic novels, novels, and anthologies, and many other fascinating projects.

Elliot S! Maggin was a principal writer of Superman for DC Comics for fifteen years in the 70s and 80s. He wrote, at one time or another, stories of pretty much every major character DC published in the latter 30 years of the last century, as well as something here or there for all the major and many of the minor comics publishers of the period. He is the writer, all told, of somewhere between 400 and 500 published comics stories, as well as of half a dozen novels.  Elliot was educated at Brandeis University (Valedictorian, 1972) and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism (1974). Elliot is the 2016 recipient of the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comic Book Writing.
